2012 Houston All Arabian Sport Horse Show
by Springmeadow Ranch on 01/27/12
Springmeadow Ranch took two horses, Kabiir Khayaal and Sotamms Serrhita, to the 2012 Houston All Arabian Sport Horse Show. Sotamms Serrhita was shown in Sport Horse In Hand Mares Open and ATH by Brittany Bartlett of Kamar Arabians, and with her earned Reserve Champion Mare on Sunday under Richard Howard. The mare who took champion was Rhita's own half sister, also by Serr Sotamm+, Kahlidah Kamar Rou, who was shown by her owner/breeder Brittany Bartlett.
Kabiir Khayaal was shown by Brittany
Bartlett in Sport Horse Show Hack Open and ATR on Saturday, garnering
a Third and First, respectively, under Kathryn Kyle. On Sunday, they
showed the same classes, earning a Second in Open, and a First in
Amateur under Richard Howard. This was their debut as a duo in the
show ring.
Brittany and Elaine are looking forward to their trip to Phoenix, Arizona to visit the Scottsdale Show and all their Babson friends. They will return with their new Babson colt, Faaroh (Almoraima El Cid x Fa Maarlina).
Soon thereafter, Springmeadow Ranch and Kamar Arabians will show at the 2012 LAHC Cowtown Classic in Fort Worth, Texas in March. Kabiir Khayaal will make his debut in Rated A Amateur Dressage with Brittany, and will show again in Sport Horse Show Hack.
2010 and 2011 Catch Up
by Springmeadow Ranch on 01/27/12
To go along with the relaunch of our website, we present a summary of the past years at Springmeadow Ranch.
2010
- Springmeadow welcomes Kamar Arabians (owned by Brittany & Lila Bartlett) to our ranch where they now reside.
- March 17th Bint Bint Serabah and Serr Sotamm+ present us with a black bay filly named Sotamms Serrhita, named after our good friend Rhita McNair (McNair Internationale).
- March 21st Kamar Arabians' Moulin Rouge Rou gives birth to a black bay filly, also sired by Serr Sotamm+ and named Laziza Kamar.
- April 10th Springmeadow Masaarah presents us with 5 puppies sired by Ch. Springmeadow Jack Frost. The 5 include 1 smooth gold bitch, 1 smooth black tri dog, 1 smooth black and silver dog, 1 feathered fawn dog, and 1 feathered red dog. This will be known as our Spring Fling litter.
- Also, April 10th, Elaine
showed Kabiir Khayaal in Intro A & B Dressage at one of the
Sienna Schooling shows. Kabiir Khayaal was also shown by trainer
Kelli Lowery at the show. Sotamm's Anglo-Arab daughter, Sotamm It
LetItGo, was shown by Brittany Bartlett.
- Serr Sotamm+ and Kabiir Khayaal both qualify for the Region 9 AHA Sport Horse Regionals at different shows. Sotamm's trainer, Kelli Lowery, earned the final points for her bronze medal, all on Sotamm.
- At the Region 9 AHA Sport Horse Regionals, Kabiir Khayaal went Top 5 in Training and First Level. Serr Sotamm went Top 5 in Second Level and Reserve Champion in Third Level.
2011
- Ch. Issibaa's GoinForTheGold earned his grand champion title.
- Springmeadow Ranch took several dogs to the National Saluki Specialty in Lexington, Kentucky for the first time in several years. Springmeadow's First Sighting took second in Sweepstakes, shown by Brittany Bartlett, and in the regular classes, shown by his owner/breeder, Elaine Yerty.
- At the Region 9 AHA Sport Horse Regionals, Serr Sotamm+ went Reserve Champion in Third Level.
- Springmeadow's Asuwish Gem won her first major at the Galveston Bay Saluki Club Specialty show weekend in November. Only one more major to go! She only needs another 5 points before she finishes!
- Sotamm returned home for the first time since the start of his Dressage career. He is enjoying the time off and is very happy with all the mares in sight.
- We survived the two very harrowing fires that both came within 5 miles of our barn. Texas had a record drought and the brown grass and empty ponds were a sight previoiusly unseen on the ranch.
